Strong to the Core

In our modern lifestyle, many of us are stationary and sedate. This sedentary pattern and long hours of sitting leads to an atrophy of the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor.

The abdominal muscles help to support the lower back and maintain space in the joints of the spine while the pelvic floor manages most lower body function. From lower back pain to urinary incontinence, the pelvic floor atrophy is evident.

The following abdominals are perfect for those with a lower back issue and are looking to build awareness in the lower abdominals, pelvic floor and abductors of the inner thigh (which hook into the pelvic floor).

Get into a habit of doing these abdominals every day, increasing the set towards 10 of each. Why not come along to some Forrest Yoga classes to build up your strength?
